Calgary nature-based Education Retreat
Over three days, participants will explore hands-on methods for teaching biodiversity, climate change, and social-emotional learning through the lens of the natural world. Educators will leave with the knowledge and confidence to incorporate Nature-based Education at their school, several printed resources, and Project WILD and Project Learning Tree Canada certifications. All experience levels are welcome.

Earth Rangers: From Eco-Anxiety to Eco-Action
In this interactive workshop, you’ll explore tools and hands-on approaches to address challenging topics in the classroom and create student-approved eco-action projects. You’ll leave with fresh insights and practical strategies that will help students build confidence, empathy, and a sense of agency in caring for the natural world.

project Learning Tree Canada Training
Explore Project Learning Tree Canada’s key resources and expand your knowledge and confidence to embed environmental education in your classroom. All participants will leave with a copy of either Explore your Environment (Grades K-8) or Green Jobs (Ages 12-25) and a certificate of completion. Maximum 20 participants.

Canadian Wildlife Federation Workshop
Looking for practical ways to connect Nature Education to curriculum? Project WILD empowers teachers to help students learn how to think, not what to think, about wildlife and the environment. All participants receive an activity guide with 146 ready-to-use interdisciplinary lesson plans and a certificate of completion. Maximum 20 participants.

EVENTS FOR STUDENTS
Earth Rangers Assembly
This year’s Earth Rangers assembly is styled like a fast-paced game show where students team up to answer questions, make eco-decisions, and tackle environmental challenges. Everyone will have a blast – while learning key biodiversity and conservation concepts.
Grade: Grades 1-6
Format: In-person
Duration: 45 minutes

Explore Your Environment
A PLT Canada facilitator will lead students through age-appropriate activities to help them to discover why trees matter, explore nature in their schoolyard, and learn about different jobs in environmental education. A field trip to a local forest may be an option, please contact for additional details.

Wetland Field Trip
Explore the wonders of wetlands on a guided field trip with the Weaselhead Glenmore Park Preservation Society at your school, local wetland or at the Weaselhead Flats. Busing subsidies are available for underserved communities. Programs are available indoors and outdoors and include content developed with Ducks Unlimited Canada.
